On Sunday 10th July, a huge team of thirty Weston Williamson + Partners employees will be running the Vitality British 10k for the tenth consecutive year as part of the Corporate Team Challenge, with around half taking on the challenge as their first ever run for charity!
Kirsty Pain, Receptionist and Administrative Assistant at the company, says: “We love taking part in the Vitality British 10k as it gives us all a chance to run around the streets of London and do the best parts of the marathon, without having to run over 26 miles! We all meet afterwards for lunch and many of the rest of the office show their support and come and join us too!”
Every year, the staff run a poll around the office to decide which charities to donate to, always choosing a different one. With this year’s charities still to be decided, there are a few suggestions up in the air based on a few good causes at home and team members’ emotional attachments to hospitals. The team always try to choose somewhere local and also somewhere further afield to raise money for.
The Corporate Team Challenge winning team will receive a £250 donation to the charity of their choice. The winning team will be comprised by the top four fastest finishers within a mixed team. Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing at GO2, said: “The Vitality British 10k Corporate Team Challenge provides a unique opportunity for corporate Britain to enter teams of employees to give something back to a charity or community of each company’s choice. Across many of our other events, the Corporate Team Challenge has proved to be a great way to inspire a workplace, set a challenge and motivate employees to be active!”
