2011 BRITISH 10K WINNERS

Mens: BERNARD ROTICH (KENYA)

Bernard Rotich British 10km July 2011

Bernard Rotich won the 2011 British 10k in 29.02, beating Tewodros Shiferaw by just one second.

Womens: GETENESH TAMIRAT (UK)

2011 Female Winner2

Getenesh Tamirat won the women's race for the second year running in a time of 34:25.

 

2010 BRITISH 10K WINNERS

Ruben Iindogo from France won the 2010 British 10k.

2009 BRITISH 10K WINNERS

Mens: CYRUS N'DEREBA (KENYA)

The 2009 race was dominated by the N'dereba family with Cyrus taking first place in a time of 30.19.

Womens: CATHERINE N'DEREBA (KENYA)

World champion Catherine took the 2009 first female position in a time of 33.54.

 

2008 BRITISH 10K WINNERS

Mens: STEFANO BALDINI (ITALY)

After taking first place in 2007, Stefano returned in 2008 to take the Official British 10K title for the second consecutive year, crossing the finish line in heavy rain with a time of 30:06.

Womens: LORNAH KIPLAGAT (HOLLAND)

Dutch runner and world champion Lornah Kiplagat was first female runner in the 2008 Official British 10K Run with a time of 32:13.

 

2007 BRITISH 10K WINNERS

Mens: STEFANO BALDINI (ITALY)

Olympic gold medallist and twice EAA European Championship marathon winner Stefano Baldini won the 2007 Official British 10K in a time of 29.27.

Womens: HILDA KIBET (KENYA)

Hilda Kibet crossed the line in a time of 32 minutes and 34 seconds to take the fastest female of 2007, beating fellow Kenyan Catherine Ndereba into second place.

 

2006 BRITISH 10K WINNERS

Mens: PATRICK MAKAU (KENYA)

World champion Patrick Makau finished the 2006 race in a time of 29 minutes and 52 seconds in stifling summer heat in another Kenyan dominated British 10K!

Womens: CATHERINE MUTWA (KENYA)

As the 2005 race was dominated by the Ethiopian runners, so the 2006 was by Kenyan runners. Catherine Mutwa came in as first female, finishing the race in a time of 34 minutes and 19 seconds.

 

2005 BRITISH 10K WINNER

Mens: HAILE GEBRSELASSIE (ETHIOPIA)

World champion Haile Gebrselassie won the 2005 Official British 10K in a time of 28 minutes and 12 seconds, setting a course record. Gebrselassie is now regarded as the greatest distance runner of all time, having broken 24 world records and won numerous Olympic and World Championship titles.

Womens: GENET GETANAH (ETHIOPIA)

Finishing the race in a time of 33 minutes and 34 seconds, Genet Getaneh completed the Ethiopian domination of the 2005 Official British 10K. Genet, two-time winner of the Toyota Great Ethiopian Run, is pictured here with the beautiful winners cup.

 

2004 BRITISH 10K WINNER

Mens: TOM VAN HOOSTE (BELGIUM)

Tom Van Hooste won the 2004 Official British 10K in a time of 29 minutes and 43 seconds. Tom is rated as Belgium's best distance runner. He is four time Belgian cross champion (2000, 2002, 2003 and 2005) and won the Cross Cup, a competion of six crosses, six times.

Womens: JULIA BLEASDALE (UK)

Julia Bleasdale came in with a time of 34 minutes and 37 seconds to finish as first female in the 2004 Official British 10K. Julia was a member of Cambridge University Athletic Club and was senior Inter-Counties champion (5000m) in 2004. She now runs for Hillingdon AC.
